"The God Bot" Published
Have you ever heard that little voice in the back of your head, the one that urges you to do the right thing? Some call it our conscience. Others, our moral compass. But what if that admonition wasn't an internal part of you at all? What if it was an app on your smart device that you didn't download and can't get rid of? And what if that app claimed to be God?
I'm so excited to announce that my new short story, "The God Bot," is featured in the latest issue of Penumbric Speculative Fiction Magazine. This story follows Javonte, who discovers a mysterious app has appeared uninvited on his phone and claims to be God β THE Christian God, urging him to make "better choices, or else. Itβs a story that explores the blurred lines between faith and free will, and the terrifying potential of technology.
The entire issue is absolutely FREE to read online, and it's filled with amazing work by Christina Sng, D.A. Xiaolin Spires, and Hannah Greer, among others. I've already read some of the other stories, and they are fantastic.
